Yes. All downloads in our Theory Centre are completely free to use and are designed to complement our RYA and bespoke training courses.

Can I share the downloads with other boaters?

Yes, you are welcome to share the downloads for educational purposes. We just ask that the content is not altered and that credit remains with Associated Marine Training.

Do the downloads replace RYA classroom training?

No. The downloads are designed as supplementary learning resources. They are not a substitute for accredited RYA classroom or practical training, but they provide a useful aid for students and instructors.

Will new topics be added to the Theory Centre?

Yes. We continue to expand our library based on student and instructor feedback, including topics such as chart plotters, AIS, radar, and paperless navigation.

Can I request a new topic for download?

When putting together the information we have tried to provide not just the very basic information but also it is not exhaustive and so if a more in depth explanation would be preferred we can do this with you. Please do contact us with any questions on these or any other information you would like covered.

Before we put a new subject live on the site we do ask a number of students to review them to assist in the design and layout of the information and give us feedback on how easily the information can be absorbed. We will also review feedback from a team of instructors so that we have thoughts from all sides of the spectrum.
