This advanced theory course builds on Day Skipper knowledge and develops the skills required for offshore and coastal passage planning.

Through structured classroom sessions and practical exercises, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of navigation, decision-making and passage management.

You’ll learn how to:

Apply advanced chartwork and navigation techniques
Calculate tides, including secondary ports
Plan offshore passages and routeing strategies
Understand meteorology and weather systems
Apply Collision Regulations (COLREGs) in detail
Understand electronic navigation and radar principles
Manage safety, emergencies and passage execution
